Proceeds from our hospital help rescue, rehabilitate, spay, neuter  and find homes for thousands of animals every year.

Our non-profit veterinary hospital is located within our animal shelter complex and provides a full range of services for the pet owning public in addition to our primary mission of caring for the animals at our shelter, injured stray animals from throughout Ada County and wildlife as well.

As part of our ongoing effort to end pet overpopulation, the hospital spays and neuters over 9,500 dogs, cats, ferrets and rabbits each year.  Additionally, other medical procedures such as dentistry and orthopedic surgery are routinely performed. Our staff of licensed veterinarians treats over 20,000 animals each year, and are available by appointment seven days per week.

Choosing a veterinarian is one of the most important decisions you'll make in ensuring a long healthy life for your pet. The Treasure Valley has many fine veterinary hospitals and practitioners to choose from, consult our directory for the names and locations of local veterinary hospitals.

Whether adopted from our shelter, or obtained elsewhere, you and your pet are welcome at our facility. However, it is important to understand that our hospital will only treat or perform procedures that are directly related to the promotion of animal health and wellbeing and the prevention of cruelty to animals. We do not provide services that are not in the best interest of the animal involved, including cosmetic surgery; artificial insemination or other breeding programs; or surgical mutilations such as ear cropping, tail docking or declawing. Additionally, any owner receiving charitable services from our hospital must agree to have their pet sterilized as a condition of receiving the benefit of any of our charitable assistance programs.
