Kids and Teens Helping Animals

Children and teens are among our most important resources and our hope for a better future for animals in Idaho. There are many ways for young people to participate in Idaho Humane Society activities including volunteering, educational opportunities, special events and fundraising. Click here for how youth can get involved with helping the I.H.S. achieve its mission.

Inmate Trained Shelter Dogs

Behavior problems (or perceived problems) are the number one reason adult dogs are relinquished to our shelter. Our Inmate Dog Alliance Project of Idaho (IDAPI) is one of the programs that we use to successfully transform problem dogs into wonderful, trained family companions. Read here for more details and how you might adopt an IDAPI dog.

Idaho Humane Society Rescue Ranch

The Idaho Humane Society doesn't restrict its advocacy and rescue efforts to just dogs and cats. Farmyard domestic animals including horses need our help and because of that the Idaho Humane Society created the Rescue Ranch. Rescue Ranch staff and volunteers save many farm animals from abuse and neglect each year and the Rescue Ranch has conducted the largest farm animal rescues (horses and cows) in Idaho history during recent years. Pet Food Donation Program

The Pet Food Pantry is an ongoing program to provide dog and cat food to families and individuals in need of assistance, maintain our pet food supply for Idaho Humane Society foster care families, and provide pet food to other local animal welfare organizations.
